iPod Touch is cool. Creative Zen Vision W is what I'm craving for. Unfortunately, due to budget constraints, I'm leaning towards the Creative Zen Vision M. But wait, let me think about it first. A friend of mine referred me to Microsoft Zune and it somehow made me rethink about the stuff I really wanted my portable mp3/ video player to have.

Currently I have these must-haves for the player:
- FM radio
- Large HDD capacity
- DivX video player
Nice to haves:
- WiFi (Heck, the PSP Slim and DS Lite really kicks the competition, iPod Touch, out with this feature)
- SD Memory Card Slot (this feature is a very good combo to allow transferring of files thru my Canon S3 IS PowerShot)
- Bluetooth (Cellphone connectivity)
- Thickness (Which is a downside for the Zen Vision M)
- Touch Sensor (iPod's forte)

Mid-range Gadget Exploration Adventure
Ok, so here's the problem: Gadget upgrade itch
Solution: Resist the temptation and look for prices to go down beyond the high demand of the latest gadgets
As simple as it is, it will be really hard to accomplish. Even if the gadgets you're itching to buy get cheaper, another batch of gadgets are there to make you drool over them. Thus, giving you a hard time to settle down for that one gadget because technology is so fast that the gadgets you've just bought will get toasted in six months by another kick-ass gadget.
Anyway, here's a list of want-to-buy low to mid-range gadgets I have in mind buying:
Nintendo Wii - Even if the XBox 360-PS3 graphic battle continues to heat up, I'll be satisfied with some serious fun-loving gaming. But of course, if Playstation 3 gets cheaper then why not? Blu-ray and high end graphics? Well, that's not what I had in mind of console gaming right now. Anyways, Wii would be a perfect fit for my DS Lite since I'm more attached to my DS rather than my PSP Slim.
Creative Zen Vision M 60GB - Okay, so I'm a bit lagging in this category since there's this new kick-ass Creative Zen Vision W 60GB. But I can't wait for another gadget anymore since my old iPod Shuffle 1GB is starting to annoy me because of the lack of lcd display and advanced features which you'd really crave for an MP3 player. And now that I'm inching closer to wanting the DivX video and FM features, I won't opt to choose the iPod Video/ iPod Touch just for the brand and not the features that I really want.
Asus EEE - Is it about time to pick it up and join the bandwagon? Or is it too late to pick it up? With an 8GB, afaik, as the largest size (or maybe 16gb or 32gb, I don't really know right now) it may be the quickest way to own a laptop. Add the Vision M as the combination, then I think I won't be upgrading my gadgets for a long time.
Basically, that's it. Well, I hope I'll be able to resolve my gadget upgrade itch - which in official terms would be buying a new batch of gadgets and not really an upgrade.

Month-long Home PC Hiatus
After a month of hdd file recovery, I'm finally back! About a month ago, it was quite a nerve-wrack hoping what would seem to be an unfathomable 130GB loss of personal files be recovered. Anyway, thankfully, thru the help of an officemate of mine and his trusty Paragon Partition Manager, he was able to temporarily ease the moaning of a dying Seagate 160GB hard disk.
Symptoms or not... it seems that the PC upgrade which I had projected to be two years from now would seem like a six month-long project. With an AGP aging His Excalibur ATI 9600 VIVO and a 1GB DDR, it just won't seem to fit in to the multiple core technology and hardware changing bandwagon. While I'm up to the challenge of exerting countless hours of researching for cheaper priced low to mid-end range of CPUs, I'm also quite heavily up to the challenge with a very tight budget as my gadgets also need their own upgrade.

Rumor: Nintendo DS Extreme news to be released on E3

Nintendo likes to toy around with their lovable handheld consoles. After buying the Nintendo DS Lite February last year, I'm still savoring the experience of playing games with it since it's my first handheld console. And even if I already have a Sony PSP, I'm still a little bit biased and inclined to playing games at my DS.
And with the recent rumor, I know I'd be drooling over with the soon to be released new version of DS which will be according to T3:

"The new console is thought to do away with the GBA port (so won't be backwards compatible with GameBoy Advance games), meaning a slimmer design and lower price."
3D Graphic Box Shots
A year ago, I was assigned to create a logo for our outing. While searching for some ideas, I stumbled upon the software True BoxShot. It's as easy as 1, 2, 3. Just choose what options you'd like to go 3D. For box shot generating, pick the Box Shot.
Immediately, you'll be led to the 2D tab to load the pictures you'd like to add to create the 3D box. Usually, only the top, left and front images are necessary to generate it. After selecting the images which I would assume has been cut into three dimensions (for top, left and front views), click on the 3D tab and the application will automatically generate the 3D effect for the chosen images. Render it and voila! You now have a 3D box shot!

Galaga is one of my most favorite games of all time.Upon searching for something interesting in my archives, I found some screenshots of the Galaga saved game in my pc. It's funny because I just got curious during those days and wondered what would happen if I deliberately reached a hundred stages in it. Although nothing special really happened, I had fun playing or perhaps the more appropriate term would be "toying" with it and eventually got tired and stopped at Stage 153. As you can see, I have 24 extra jets left and have two of it firing at the same time...
